I have a mint 04 KTM 450sx with full FMF titanium exhaust less than 20 hours on the bike, and as mint as they come. Well I need a 4 wheeler and a friend of mine has an 05 400ex , 20 or so hours, ridden on the road so it needs tires, it has a powerbomb header and HMF slipon, Nerfs, Uni and jetted but has cut front fenders. I have 2800 invested in this KTM since I found it from a friend that was hurting for money. Is this a good trade for me Quad for bike no money to boot on either sides>>>?? Thanks Guys!!!

Yea, that sounds like a really good trade...just straight up. Both have aftermarket exhaust. Just think about it this way: an 05 400ex for $2800 + tires (around 200 bucks) so an almost brand new quad for 3 grand....Just make sure that it is paid off, and you dont have to take over payments.

Yep its free and clear and has the title. I am the type that wants the stock look since I will mostly use it at the drag races. It also has had the wheels painted black which I dont like, I will need to strip that paint or buy new ones, also anyone know how much from fenders are for the 05 model year, cant have cut fenders. Other than that the bike is mint . He also has all the stock stuff which I will most likely put back on.

i think front fenders 05, are like $200 and u can get paint stripper for $5 in a spray can, and the paint will come off, then put your new tires on the wheels and they will look fine

20 hours and his stock tires are gone?????.... my 05 has a-lot of hours on it and my stock tires aren't 50% gone tonz of road riding too

I have seen him do 1-3 powerbrake burnouts why I dont know but thats why the tires are hurt.

why do u need to put on stock plastics??
and i wouldn't get the stock tires. that is going to be way more than $200 bucks. the stealership charges like $120 per tire!!!! i called to find out. get a set or razrs then u will be looking at a much better tire for around $200 total from Rocky mountain ATV

Thanks for the tips guys . I am gonna see what kind of cheap tires Sams has tomorrow for the Quad and maybe try walmart. Also I am gonna touch up the A Arms paint wise, does Honda make an exact match colorwise for the AArms?? Also on Tires what size is best ?? Stock or other>>??

stock tires, unless u want more acceleration without changing the sprockets. then go with 18s in the rear and 20s up front.

i dont think its a fair trade... the bikes worth more than the quad
and the quad doesnt sound lik ethe guy took care of it. i would sel the bike and buy a nice and well treated 400.
