leaking oil

my brothers yamaha yz85 was leaking oil real bad. we were riding last night and this morning i noticed a puddle of oil on the ground of our garage. it lost alot of oil. it was coming from somewhere around where the front sprocket is, but i could not see any cracks or anything. does anybody have any idea where it could be coming from and what caused it?

i know that this is a quad forum but there has to be someone out there that can help me.

could be a cracked case, could be teh seal behind teh sprocket (countershaft seal) gon bad, could be a groove worn into the actual countershaft.

i would check all of teh bottom end gaskets...

yeah i will have to take a closer look at it tomorrow. i hope it is nothing big tho

Yeah its probably the counter shaft seal or shifter shaft seal.Both can be replaced in about 10min.;)
