just got a 2007 trx 450 r 2 weeks ago and noticed it had a hesitation in the throttle when i hit the gas hard. does it when it is warm so i think it might be starved for air from the stock filter that is on it.

any advice would be great.

if it does it at idle, then it's normal
if it does it when moving, it's not normal, try a 55 leak jet first.
good luck

that is the infamous fcr carb bog you are experiencing...drop your leak jet to a 55 or smaller( i have mine down to a 42) and it took care of that little demon bog

HEY SPEEDY QUAD THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. IS THE LEAK JET THE MAIN JET OR THE PILOT JET OR NEITHER. I NEVER HAVE BEEN GOOD WITH CARBS.

You could also install a boysen quickshot which should help!

you are welcome...the leak jet is neither. it is actually in the plate/cover on the bottom of the carb, the one you take off to change the main and pilot jets .

i have heard that the quicksot don't fix the problem as well as it states. i don't know for sure i never tried it. to me the 8 dollar leak jet, which was known to completely fix the problem, was a much better smarter buy than the $80 quickshot that sort of alleviates the problem, but does not fix it.

i think the leak jet is number 29 in the diagram. there is no description for that part and it don't actually show where it goes.

the leak jet screws into part 49, the float bowl...

choos carb diagrams then fcr mx carb (http://www.sudco.com/)

allright thanks. i'll order a 55 and 42 just in case i need one or the other. not sure what it came out with from the factory but i guess they build them all the same no matter what climate it is.

#70 or #72 is stock leak jet. when you order it, have the dealer pull up the leak jet from the 06 crf 450 diagram. while your at it order the crf needle, 165 main.

on the trx schematic, it doesnt list any options

you're right, the quickshot will not fix the bog, been there done that..........it will improve the throttle response somewhat.
