Snapped Grab Bar on 400Ex Need opinions

Well.. I was doing a nice wheelie in 2nd on my 400ex and My Fat *** slipped and went right past the sweet spot. And I fricking Bent and snapped my grab bar. A buddy of mine is going to weld everything this comming friday, but I want to know if there are any suggestions on a better grab bar while the stocker is off. I know some companies make bars for the 400 that require you to cut the OEM one off, but since mine is already off I thought it might be a good Idea to just go with new. Would a DG for a 300 fit?

check out www.prm-atv.com u will have to buy mounting brackets and no a dg for a 300 wont fit it will prolly be to wide

Buy a new LSR subframe. They are sweet.

I have just the solution. Get you a 86 250R grabbar and get your freind to make you a few brackets like mine. This pic should help you.

Sweet, I just got PRM Baja bar with mounting brackets, 1st line of instructions is to cut OEM bar off and weld new brackets on. Thanks for all your help. Looks like I'm riding the recon until Friday :(

y not jus ride the 400 w/p a grab bar?

while your welding the grab bar brackets on, might as well add some gussets...

I put the PRM on mine and you could literally twist the subframe just by picking up on one side of it (because of the extra width / leverage)..

Leo did you Gusset your Frame and Subframe when you rebuilt it last Winter?

didn't really gusset the frame, just had most of the welds re-done..

I did gusset the subframe though (because of the grab bar)..

That looks really good sitting there. I think I will have to do a whole Rebuild next Winter. Maybe some Houser A-Arms, Swingarm, Steering Stem, would be nice to have a Houser Subframe too, and more. :eek:
