450r, 400ex, 250r

Ok I have been looking at steering stems on ebay and in classified ads on websites like this one and have noticed that a lot of people are selling steering stems and saying that they fit 450r's 400ex's and 250r's. Can you interchange all of these stems? I was wondering if any one could give me an answer on which stems will fit which machines. (except for the obvious ie 400ex stem fits 400ex, 450r stem fits 450r etc...)

Buy a stem made expressly for teh 450r.


others like the 400ex will work with a new supplied bushing but the tie rod plate is different and some folks find this to cause issues with the way the quad steers. others never complain.
