I don't know man, I'm with you on this one too. I've always been a hardcore quad guy and have always hated dirtbikes (just can't ride them) but a couple weekends ago on a trip up north I rode a friend's RM250 for an entire day and just fell in love. I had so much fun on that thing, more than I've ever had on my YFZ or any other quad. It was such a challenge to ride yet the ride was so much smoother and faster than any quad.

I think if you really want to go for it, but if you're unsure at all don't do it.

i rode a yz125 a while back and liked it, well thought i did. i bought it and rode it maybe 3-4 times and decided 4 wheels are much better then 2, and sold it soon after. never again...

i'm starting to feel that way too :( ... i've always been a quad guy.. and never really dissed on bikes untill they start crap... but the more i see a dirt bike, the more i want to ride them and stop quads for a wile... i onow... i guess quads just get boring to me... becasue i've always chalenged myself to do something... (and i'm not trying to say i'm the baddest person ever) but i cant chalenge myself any more cuz i'm the fastest around... i'm faster then any dirt bike or quad around here... and i just feel i need a new change.. but there's no way i could switch over... i've got to much going for me in Nationals now...

Ive been all around the block. From dirtbikes to quads back to dirtbikes. I think it depends on the type of riding. I love riding dirtbikes in the trails and sand pits. But then when it snows i miss having 4 wheels.

Why not have both? Keep the 400 and buy like a 99 bike. My buddie has a 99 YFZ for sale for $1500
