what is the best way to go?

i have read so many forums and have no idea which to do...

i mainly only ride trails and hill climbs

It really depends on your budget and if you want to go with wider a arms, etc...

You will find there are many opinions out there on what works best. Personally I would avoid the conversion stuff like the 400ex front end but some can be made to work well for certain types of riding. I would stick with parts made for the 300.

Since it's a 300ex I wouldn't go nuts on high dollar stuff either. A set of works economy shocks ( front and rear) and +2+1 burgards with an extended axle to match would be a great lower budget setup. Extending the swingarm an inch or so wouldn't hurt but it isn't neccesary. Just make sure to do some research before you buy anything.
