I was thinking about the svt lightning but it’s not practical with what I need a truck for so I was thinking a Silverado 1500 ext cab 4x4

i have a pretty heavy foot, and i get upper 14s to mid 16s in the city, and 15-18 on the highway...

you will be happy with a silverado! i loved mine just didn't have the pwer i wanted for hauling my big trailers. plus i wanted to put a 5th wheel hitch.

they are one of the most comfortable trucks i have ever driven!

what is the differance between the 5.3 and the 4.8

rim size!!!!!!!!!!!

no just kidding, the 5.3L will have more power for towing, I think the 4.8 is to small for these trucks

I told you to stop posting my truck. Now everyone will be shootin these wheels in da hood.

But if I were you, I'd get the 350 but only because I've had good memories of 350s in my family.

Heck, I'd look around for one with less than 90k. My brother's truck had the 350, and as far as I know..He had nothing wrong with it until he got to about 200k miles and the backend went out. Some of the stuff might have gone wrong, but nothing was too extreme for a 18 year old kid to pay for without having drama from my parents.

NO, no, no. Go with a REAL truck....Ford's 6.0L PowerSTroke diesel. not only will it have all the power you will ever need but it can get over 20MPG.

Good truck, but you might just have started a war without meaning to.

I have a 2000 Z71 with the 5.3. Best gas millage I have gotten has been 17-18 on the highway, average arround 15 city/highway. Ive had great luck with it so far, I got it with 60000 miles, put nearly 20000 on it in a little over a year, no problems just do normal oil changes.

BTW if you want a real truck you should go with the bowtie, not the gay blue oval.

bowtie? yeah that sounds cool, thats about how tuff they are. Every chevy we had fell apart...the way it always goes. A stroker will last twice as long.

I don't care for the truck but i must give it up for the quad, that is a sick machine.

thanks.

The both make good trucks, its really personal preference, the fords and chevys are good. I personally like chevy better, my father has owned them his whole life, so I guess its a loyalty that has been passed down.

everyone is intilted to thier opinion, but we can agree on something

Ford and Chevy are both superior to Dodge.

I'd anything that had 4 wheels, and was able to move without the help of someone pushing it. I'd own a Dodge, Chevy, or Ford. I'm not too picky.

But if I were to go out and buy a brand new truck right now....I'd get a new 2006 Chevy Silverado. My dad has one for a work truck...and even with all the toolboxes...It looks badass.

thats quite a bit of price difference... and ive actually heard a lot of negative things about the new 6 litre... great power, bad reliability... the 7.3 was much more reliable...
