:confused: could someone tell what a sparks advance key is, does, how much it costs, and if I like it where I can get one???? Thanks for the info......

if im not mistaken its a little thingy that goes behind your flywheel. it advances the timing of your quad because when honda put the XR400 motor in a quad frame they retarded the timing some. this fixes it. it costs less than 20 bucks and u can order one from sparks racing.

It advances your timing by 6 degrees resulting in more power all through the power band . Both I and Curtis Sparks sell it for 15 plus shipping and handling. For more info goto www.sparksracing.com

how hard is to install and does it affect the reliablity of the motor. is it worth the time and effort to install with the power advantages that u will get

I wouldn't say it's hard to install, but it is kinda of a timely thing for as small of a part your installing. The thing that took me the longest was scraping the old gasket material off the case carefully to avoid scratching the "sealing" surface. But I do think it made the bike quite a bit more punchy on trails. Winds up quicker.
