The brakes alone are worth it.

Tell him to get the new blaster i had a old one and if u get in just alittle bit of water and mud the brakes would mess up.

yeah definately get the new one, the old blaster's brakes were horrible, it scared me to ride one because I couldn't stop it.

after recently owning a blaster, if they did not have the new raptor brakes id say not to get it, but since they do youre bro should get one. they arent so bad stock and now with good brakes and some small mods it wont be a bad machine.

I have to say that upgrades to the Blaster are one of the best things Yamaha could have done. I bet it is a decent machine now. The brakes were the only problem before.

pipe it and u will have a blast on it man esp. with the new brakes you can actually go fast into a corner without reailing off the berm:p i have done that before! also get wheel spaces and aftermarket rims and holeshots on it tooo!!

Once new rear tires and a pipe are installed another good mod would be banshee front shocks. they bolt right up and will work alot better than the ****ty blaster ones.

banshee front shocks suck, ur better off with a cheap pair of works

I got my son a 2003 Blaster just because of the disc brakes all the way around. I never rode a Blaster till I bought this one. I rode a neighbors 1999 Blaster with cable rear disc brakes and OMG what a POS the brakes are. I recomend getting the 2003 model Blaster.
