I just got a sticky note on my front door from the UPS man saying that I need an adult signiture to get my Elka rec fronts. It is like the day before Christmas for me because I know that the day is comming but seems so far away!!!.
I'll be sure to give a full ride report tomarrow or whenever they get here:D .

I just turned 17, which is actually why I got the shocks. It was a combination between my parents, relatives, and my personal savings to be riding Elka:p

Here is a comparison between stock and Elka. The shaft on the Elka is a lot bigger than it looks!

They were $465 with the shock covers (shipped). It took about 2 weeks to get them. I ordered them from Precision off of ebay.

^^^ Been there done that and it isn't cheap! I got holeshot HDs on Baja rims for the rocky conditions that I ride in and am very pleased. They also wear good.

Looks nice, someday I'll get some Elkas for my Banshee. That's once I get the money saved up to actually be able to afford them and some a-arms.
I'm also from WI:cool: .

them shocks are really nice I could use a pair myself but I want to buy a whole front suspension package with the shocks instead of being seperate. They look awesome on your bike 400exstud.
Those look good.
I need some I was jumping 70ft long with 6ft of air at little sahara and the landings weren't smooth!
BTW have you ridden on them yet? Do you like them?

I did get a chance to do a short test ride on them. While I was riding through fields and rough trails I noticed myself bracing for certain infamous bumps but when I got to them it was like they weren't even there (with the front at least). The harder I rode the more of a difference I noticed. I was able to ride at a faster pace without getting as tired as I used to. I can finally understand how people say that you can't build up a motor without suspension because you can only go as fast as your suspension will let you. It is very true.
Now the rear is a different story:rolleyes: . Once I get time to dial it in I am sure that it will cooperate with the front shocks, but by the time that happens I will probably have a new Elka rear in my hand:devil:

I had a set of razrs and they worked good.. I think I payed 220 for the set from RockyMountainATV.. just payed 183 w/ free shipping for a set of Kenda Klaws.. figured I would let you in on it being that you seem like you are on a tight budget.
Good luck with your shocks, they look good.

I doubt you will every get that stock rear to work with your fronts. Your fronts are ZPS and your rear is not. I would suggest a stock rebuild with an aftermarket linkage. I had the same setup on my 400 and it was awesome.

Thanks for everyone that commented on my shocks. I have been wishing for a set even before I got my 400!
