Just wondering if anyone has had any trouble with viper 90 tranny gears breaking teeth? Had race today and broke third set this year , this set only had three races and a little practice time on them. Just wondering if anyone knows of a fix, or have experienced this problem.

We have not had any problems but I have read about others on here that have. Usually if it is being jumped and the rider doesnt let off the gas in the air and then come down and hit the ground. Get ahold of quadjunkies and ask about a case saver the bought also.

try cryotreating the gears.
it is a deep freezing then slowly return to room temp. process.
makes for a very hard piece.

Get in touch with SCR products, we have yet to have issues since the tranny save was installed :) ( knock on wood! lol)

We use the "tranny saver" from SCR. We also bore the transmissions and press a brass bushing in the case to replace the weak needle bearing and strengthen the whole assembly. We broke 3 sets of gears this year until then. We haven't had a problem since. We are now doing it for a few other guys who have had problems.

My son races pretty much every weekend We have had absolutley no tranny gear problems but alot of the other riders have. One of the riders that had problems a good friend of mine (etondaddy), I told him to switch over to running gear saver oil in the tranny like we run, he did and has not blowed out another tranny since and that was last year probably about 30 races so that is the first thing I would try...

We were ones that also had problems with it. Every race we went to she would break down. We blew so much money out the door, by replacing them gears. But (knock on wood) we havent had that problem since.

The tranny saver is about $85 or $90. It does require some drilling and tapping to install.
