ok well after i set up my front end it seems to be sitting way to low(and yes this is where it sits) there is only about an inch of the shaft showing and the first cross over on the first spring is already hitting to go to the second spring so its like instead of having a tripple rate its like a dual.if i jump up and down on the bumper it bottoms it out. i had it set up for my weigh i have the compression and rebound set all the way up. is the normal?

WOW, those look like standard travel shocks on long travel arms to me. Whats the length of your shocks eye to eye not mounted? Have you tried adjusting the ride height in the front? How are you doing so? compression and rebound adjustments will do nothing as far as your ride height is concerned. Also ZPS shocks, the top spring should be fully compressed with the rider sitting on the quad. Thats why they call them that.

X 2!

You have it pretty close to the lowest setting.....adjust that first and then see how everything is!

Take the shocks off and measure from eye to eye they look short to me. If they are the right length you may need a stiffer spring, the ride height adj. shouldn't make the bike look that low in the front. The shocks are either too short or the spring stack is way off!

Dude!

Just lower the rear and start racing TT.

Call Custom Axis and have them help you.

Compress the shock, and move the clip down.

19 sounds a little short for that set up to me. To adjust the ride height set the front end up on a block or put the bike on a stand so that the shocks are fully extended and have no weight on them at all. Then compress the spring stack and move the clip down a few places.

They need to be 19 1/2 on a 450r with Gibsons.

19 1/2 is correct on 450r

First off you have a ZPS front end and a standard rear. You need to put a linkage on the rear, I prefer GT Thunder. You may only be able to see 1" of shaft, but you actually have about 3" of shaft available, you shouldn't count the bottom out bumper, measure metal to metal. That's probably really close and I'm guessing when you pull the bikes front end up you have right at 5" of shaft from metal to metal? If you don't think its correct yet then take the springs off of your shocks and try to push the shaft up into the body, if it pushes easy then you don't have any Nitrogen in it. If you are still not satisfied with the ride height then I would recommend replacing your K3 spring to a heavier one!

I'm no genious by any means when it comes to setting up suspension, but mine is dialed in nicely. Now, this is my 400ex, I know I know, not a 450r. But compare the shocks and the angle of my Gibson A-arms and his. Something about the shocks just totally does not look right. Our angle on our a-arms are very close, but the shocks are no where near each other as far as the travel they have...

Ok, so you asked what the extended length was supposed to be, but most people forget the most important shock measurement and that is the compressed length. You may have too long of a compressed length!
