250r/450r axle splines? please help....

iI just baught my friends hipers off his 450r .THe front bolt rite up , but the backs are intergraded hubs to fit durectly to the axle spline .I thaught they would bolt rite up 2 but the didnt the spline on the 250r are bigger i think .? is there anything i could do? would a 450r axle fit a 250r? lmk guys please so i could also buy it off him

the 250r has 25 splines and the 450r has 24. The 450 axle will not fit. The 400ex axle also has 24 splines so it is possible to get one but I think you have to get a new locknut for that axle. Youd prollyjust be better off either trading or selling the rims you have for the right ones.

Your best bet is too trade them off for the right ones. Don't mess around looking for an axle just get the right wheels. I just remembered something, you might be able to just buy the hub from Hiper that will fit your R. Then you could use them on a 450 or 250 depending on which hub is in it. ;)

If you go the 400EX axle route you will need to use an OEM or aftermarket 400EX locknut if you want to keep your dual piston 250R rear brake setup. A 250R antifade can not be used with a 400EX axle and a 400EX antifade while require a 400EX rear rotor, caliper, caliper stay and longer brake line

Choices by expense level:
Trade the wheels for a set that use a standard Honda rear Hub
Get (buy or trade) the correct hub section for a 250R
Use a 400EX axle with an OEM or aftermarket locknut
400EX axle with 400EX antifade and 400EX brake parts

thanks alot guys....im just going to trade with some guy that has the 250r integraded hubs for the 450r 1's .do the rims really split in half like some people say. the guys that want to trade me says they did?how do i do it?

They do split in middle, just remove the bolts in the center of the wheel.

is they any differnce from the older to the newer one's?or it doesnt matter they both split.

They both split, but you may want to check with Hiper to see if there is any design differences that would make them not work a newer or older design. I know there has been several design changes in the wheels. You might even want to check with Hiper to see if the standard lug centers would work in your rims. Then you wouldn't have to remove your hub each time you change tires.
