View Full Version : Made i custom shift knob for my king quad

well what i did was take a piston out of an a/c compressor off of a rig, and took the temper out of the wrist pin by heating it up and shocking it with pb blaster to cool it down, so i could dill it and tap it, i then drilled it and tapped it. Then i put the wrist pin back in the piston and on these small one there is a roll pin that goes threw the wrist pin to keep it still. I then put it on my king quad, looks pretty good if you ask me. I have not seen another one like this on a atv. Pics

yeah after spending 7 grand on the machine it is good to find things to do to it for free, and that really set it apart.

not hard to make at all. All you really need is a piston and wristpin, and torches and a drill ditt and tap the size you need, only took maybe half hour to make it. The guy at worj that helped me make it made one for a f-150 with a piston out of an atc185.

Now you need to take the rod and piston and make that your shift shaft
