Just wondering on what the difference is between the polaris SPORTSMAN 500HO and the polaris MAGNUM 500 HO...The MAGNUM IS A 1998 so if you know the differences please inform me ...thanx:confused:

I'm certainly no expert on the subject, but you haven't received any other responses yet, so...

I believe that the Sportsman uses a different frame. The Sportsman should have Independent Rear Suspension (IRS).

The Magnum probably has the traditional solid rear axle.

I would venture to guess that the Magnum probably has the old-style Polaris chain drive on the front if it is a 4x4. I think that the Sportsman 500HO has a shaft drive.
