hello any of you have problem with the transmission??
I always broke the same gear 2 times with the 2005 and now with the 2006. it s fifth of the countershaft. a tooth of one side.
I ride 2 or 3 times a week on sand circuit with a lot of whoops.
that could be the reason ??
Thanks
Lucas.

How often are you changing the tranny oil? What kind of oil are you using in it?

It was a partners bike ...I don't use moly on the clutch side i changed from all honda to Max now...It seems he lost a gear and then restarted it and went another 100 yrds then the rest of the trany went and took everything else out ..New motor was 3700 and repairs were allmost 3000and change and the parts swap pipe cam ect. installation was another 1300.. Grand total was $5000 would of been better off buying new bike and swaping everything to the new one...Sad Sad Sad

Add it up..crank, tranny, side cases, piston rings, bearings gaskets .When the only thing that is good is the head and the valve cover you are going to spend some serious cash on a motor ...A duncan 470 kit cost about 2200 with out the $400 cam

I'm fixing this for less than that 2,200 dollar duncan 470 and I need crank, tranny, side cases, piston and rings, every bearing and seal this thing has, gaskets, Head, and probably allot of other garbage. I feel that I'm getting raped on what I will be paying. If you want to compare you can get a pretty good running 350 chevy to go race stock cars with for less than you can buy a bone stock TRX motor for.

Labor is a big part of a lot of repairs..If you have a Duncan or Foxx Motor you are going to pay for that labor big time ..It is nice to be able to make your own repairs ,if you have the time .Some people have more money than time and don't want to be wondering did i tighten that???? A peace of mind is worth a couple of Gs when you are trying to win a championship.

I let somebody else do my motor one time and that one time will be the last time. I was charged out the *** on labor and it only lasted about 10 minutes becuase the crank was in wrong. Peace of mind for me is knowing it's done correctly because I did it myself and I took my time doing it rather than just tried to beat the flat rate and make a couple extra dollars.

They replaced my starter clutch and idler gear. It really didn't help at all. I don't know if it could be the sprag or the starter itself. It just won't start if it's hot. I'm going to put the kicker on this winter...
