PLEASE HELP!! gas spitting into the air box on 450 foreman!

gas keeps spitting out in the intake airbox and the motor won't fire. i cleaned the carb. and still no go. it won't even take startin fluid it jus spits it back out at me. let you in on alittle history. bought the atv off of someone that had put a new top end in it and couldn't get it runnin since then so i bought it. anyone have any ideas. THANKS A BUNCH!!

Did you take the carb apart to clean it? A friend of mine has the same quad and just this week had the same problem. The primer somehow had muddy water in it. He said he never even uses it to start it but just had the plastics off to clean it and maybe he bumped the primer and it shot mud in the card. Anyway, I had a friend tear down the carb to clean it and it had 1 of the tiny holes in the main jet blocked and the slide was sticking. A little mud there too! Cleaned the whole thing inside and put it back together and it runs good!

found out what it was..........had a small hunch that the timin was off a few teeth.........took the side cover off and found out that it was WAY off........then i seen that the timing tensioner was backed off.....checked that and it is bad so that created it to jump timin. well thanks a bunch for the info. i'll definitely keep that in mind for future reference.
