I have a problem with my 400ex not wanting to Idle. So I took the carb apart and was cleaning it. I pulled the pilot jet out so that I could clean it and I tried to take a small piece of wire and push thru the hole and I can not get it all the way thru. Shouldn't the center of the pilot jet be open all the way thru? I tried a smaller piece of wire and still nothing.

Thanks for the help.

From what I experienced and had read, the 400ex always has a difficult time staying idled. I wouldn't suggest you rejetting if you plan on doing any upgrades (exhaust, air box, cam ect..)

If you plan to put some mods on that will depend on what jets you need.

See my sig. below

Its not a good idea to push wire through the jets, you probably damaged it.:eek2: Use carb cleaner and compressed air instead.Good luck.

Exactly. It's never a good idea to force anything through a jet. Carb cleaner and compressed air will always get them clean.
