MX guys, what gearing??

HEy guys, I am going to get back into racing mx and I am starting to put together my MX 250R. It will have somehwere around a 270 - 310 topend with mx port. what gearing should I go with? I always ran a 14 - 37. is this still the hot setup for mx? Thanx!

I run 14 36 with my 265PV and 18x9.5x8 Turfs for tires.

it depends what track you're on....... I use 14/38 most of the time with a 265..........

I use 14/38 on my atc250r(310pv motor and all the rest of goodies), I used 14/39 when it had a stock cylinder. On my trx250r(in building) I'm gonna use 14/37 and in the past I used 14/38 on a trx250r(I used 20" tires at that time). I would go with 14/38 or 13/36, I am assuming you are using 18 tires. On my atc250r it has more than enough power to pull 3rd gear right off the line with 14/38, I know it can pull a 36 rear, but thats too high for some tracks.

Depends on how you ride are you a good clutcher or do you not clutch thats the question im not so i use 14-39
