Z400 Ball joints

Has anyone ever had to replace the ball joints on the lower arms of your Z? I'm not for sure but it looks like I'll have to buy the whole damn A-arm. I've thought about cutting the ball joint end off and threading the casted tube part and install a replacable joint or a Hieme joint.
