Alright so I basically only ride trails and I'm lookin for some more power without spending a ton of money. I've heard good things about dropping a tooth on the front sprocket. Now my question is... how many are on the stock front sprocket? 14t? Also I've been hearing that dropping a tooth in the front can cause chain wear. Is this true or false? If it is would I be better off getting a different rear sprocket? Any help would be great!

It depends on your year. 05 or newer has 14t stock front, older ones have the 15t front. Drop it one in the front, you'll like it. You will lose a little top speed, but if you ride all trails it shouldn't matter anyways. Technically speaking your front sprocket will wear faster because your turning it more often with one less tooth, but you probably wont even notice it.;)
