I wouldn't. Not meaning to offend anyone, but I honestly think the 660s suck. Not once has a 660 impressed me, and nearly everyone I ride with at this point has owned one.

I owned an 02 raptor 660 with jetted carbs and a hmf slip on, honestly it was more fun than my 400ex because of the power but riding trails the ex is better, it depends on what type of riding you do. If you are on tight technical trails get the ex, but if you do more open trail riding with large straight aways by far get the raptor.

Their called fast cause when they came out they were one of the fastest stock quads out. The name stuck with it and people still think its fast.

Yeah. Are 03 660 had motor troubles. The worst was a hole blew in the bottom end of the motor. Took a look and a clutch plate was broke and 2 gears were all broke along with the hole in the motor. Its also burning oil and has leaky gaskets and right now is making a odd noise in the motor. It also got pulled head studds. Only 4 stroke yamaha to get is the 450.

Alot of people trade their 400ex's in for raptor 660's and they almost always regret it. Raptors only advantage is in drags/streight aways.

Your probably not going to get a well balanced answer in the 400ex forums. I agree they are tippy and dont handle the same. If your used to the 400 then stay with it. Its a whole different machine and after a while of riding you would adjust to it no matter what but it will never be the same as your trusty 400. All bikes have problems, it all depends on how much you push the limits of the machine. I have a friend with a a Craptor and another with a Z400. My 426 eats them both on a regular basis but they still swear by their machines to this day.

Ive heard some things here and there, small issues with frame cracking if you do alot of jumping. We ALL know the fun of swingarm pivot bolts. Mine broke in two before I found out it was bad. Then again I ride pretty hard. My brother beats the ever lovin hell out of his 300, goes anywhere I go and then some. Last week his handlesbars broke right off while he was riding a wheelie. It really comes down to how hard you ride

Well i beat my 400ex and i meen beat. It needed rings about every 1-2 months. Never one time has it not started at less the plug was fould. You can run a 400ex as hard as you want with no troubles as long as its stock. My friend broke a rod but that was from running all most no oil and that took all day before it broke.

Only problums i had with my 400ex in 3 years of being severly beat that broke/needed changing
*axle broke
*needed rings
*valve guides got worn
*bearings in 1 front hub got shredded
*bent rims side ways
*2 head studs got pulled making gaskets leak

Thats about it other than i needed to change the shocks cause they were to soft for my riding style. I ran full throttle non stop and had no back pressure in the pipe.
