02 660 raptor breaking up???

ok my buddie brought his quad over for me to fix the quad just breakes up anything over idle so i thought it was the rev limiter trouble so i grounded the wire under the shifter like i did on mine to bypass the limiter but that was not it still breaking up the quad is bone stock never messed with the jetting or anything the spark plug is new and airfilter is clean just missing and backfireing and the choke seems to be working fine ?????? help

take your coil off put it on his.hope that works.or could be the pick up coil on the stator.

No i sold mine and bought a yfz' but i know some one else that has one!i was thinking pick up coil thanks

Check the Gizmo that makes you pull in the clutch to start it. It looks like a button next to the clutch lever. Puch the button in a wayla it will rev freely. My warrior did the same thing

there are 2 wires behind your shifter make sure they are on.

ichecked the two wires there good . and the parking brake switch i unplugged so it's neither of them i hope it's the pickup coil im running out of ideas! :mad:

if its the pick up coil you need to pull the left side cover "put new gasket on when done"pull the stater and hope you can find a pick up coil on e-bay cause they like to only sell the stator pick up coil as a whole unit big bucks!!!!!!:eek2:
