I have a pro circuit t-4 on my 400ex.. i have a 14 tooth sprocket also... It seems like i have almost too much tork at bottom end...
Would runing a different endcap on the t-4 help top end a little and even things out.. if so which number one do i need,,,

By the way i do not have a jet kit or anything just 14 tooth and pro circuit.. where i live we are at like sea level so it seems to run smooth as Heck..

Thanks guys

since putting the T4 on, I run the 14 a lot less than I used to...

the only time I put it on now is when I know we are going to be doing some serious hill-climbing..

the T4 seems to add a nice amount of low-end grunt. (and noise :))

This is interesting you guys say this, I have been wanting to add a 14t for even more torque out of my 400. I already have the complete pro circuit system. Don't get me wrong, I have gobs of torque, by I rarely ever top out the bike, so I figure I should work on the low end for even MORE!! Should I maybe avoid this?

I keep debating switching to a 14 as well. But the more threads I read it seems everyone switches back to a 15. I ride mostly tight rough trails where low-end is key, but never felt I was lacking any with the stock 15. It's only $10-20 so I guess I'll just have to see for myself.

The 14 tooth is a kick butt addition...
especially for the motocross or agressive trail rider..
Now dune riders and top speed guys dont think the 14t does much..

the only time you will want to go back to a 15t is when you get enough money in the motor that it doesnt need the lower gearing.. you are only talking 15 bucks for the 14t...

Heck get it and then when you get all the money saved for a killer motor or whatever just pull it off.. but until then it really seems to help me as i said on the track and hard trail riding..

just my 2 cents..

The 14 tooth will not help if your running smaller rear tires like 18 inchers,,,,you have no 1st gear..

What? The tires take your first gear? How do you get neutral? Is it just down from 2nd gear? Is that kinda similar to what happens to the rapors 2nd gears?!? :D :D

That's strange.. Mine is top-notch all the way.. great welds..

One of the better quality silencers I've seen so far, light-years above most...

How old was yours? Maybe they have come out with an updated/impoved design?

I have to agree, I've had my T-4 for almost a 8 mos. now and the welds are still pristine. I think they did revise them about 1 year ago, my buddy bought one about 1 1/2 years ago and just the silencer alone came in two parts, then he still had to bring to a local muffler shop for an extra 2" extension just to get it on right!! Our's look much different even though they are the same pipe. (My sticker has fallen off the silencer though:mad: ) Other than that, the pipe is AWESOME!!!!!

ok i know this is a question that doesn't really relate to that t-4 , and i no this is about a 300 but??? i have heard from a bunch of guys we ride with that they think they best mufflers out there are the ones that are stock just drilling 3 or 4 3/8 inch holes in the back of the spark arrestor wil give u just as much power as an aftermarket silencer is this true???

I'll have to snap a picture of mine..

It doesn't have a sticker on it, it has a embossed metal plate, with the graphics painted on, that's riveted to the side of the pipe...

Must be they have made several different versions of the same pipe?

well leo go to pc website and u will see that the pipe on the 400ex is not a t-4 its a 304 2stroke silencer so right there u can see they made more versions of this pipe. mine was a sticker not a plate.

Leo-

Mine has the same set up you're talking about, I thought it was paint until it peeled off while I was pressure washing it though!
