Ok, how much would car insurance for a ford mustang GT (1997-8) be for a 17 year old. (not including all the other things you can get with insurance stuff)

The cheapest way to get car insurance is to have your parents insure your car under there name and then list you as one of the drivers of the vehicle but keep them as the primary driver. Then when the bill comes in the mail you can pay it instead of your parents. It will save you hundreds of dollars a year. That is only if your parents have clean driving records if one of them has a DUI, a lot of accidents, multiple speeding tickets, etc. you are screwed and you better start saving because mustang GT's and 17 year old guys don't go over well with insurance companies.

Go to Progressive.com take 15min. Fill out a quote.. and you'll have your price jsut like that. ;)

It's gonna be godawful expensive if it's under your own insurance plan. $3000 a year would be my guess.

I paid $3000/yr (250/mo) for full coverage on a 1993 Suzuki Swift (aka Geo Metro w/ 4 cylinder) when I was in my early 20's. :P

when i was 18 i was in alot of trouble. alcohol, lots of tickets, and two wrecks. i got a DUI and flipped a brand new jeep and after that they wanted $777 a month for full coverage. i had to get just liability for $247 then buy another coveage from the bank to insure my loan for another $100 a month.

Now im 26 and pay $36 a month full coverage. God its nice getting old!

How much do you guys think it would be if it was under my parents names. (they have a very good record, my father has never had a accident or a ticket and almost the smae with my mother)

I can pick up a mustang GT with around 100,000 miles on it for like 8 grand max. (it would be paid for right on the spot.)

for 8000 you are better off doing what im gunna do i want a 89-95 mustang gt since theyre around 8 thousand the highest you can just buy the minimal sp? insurance which is about 1500 a year and if you total it than you have to buy a new car but your not paying about 4 thousand a year if you would buy full insurance

You are 18 you need a GT Mustang like a 13 year old virgin needs a boob job. Put that 8k towards an education, and after collage you can buy whatever you want. also quit watching that stupid too fast too furious dvd, it'll warp your mind. just picking but really save your cash, you don't need the mustang. Trust me you don't need the tickets and your folks don't need to bury you.

Nice post, ill go easy on you. My education is paid for because I am going to a trade school and my parents said that they will pay for that, on the other hand they wont pay for anything dealing with a car. I dont watch fast and furious movies and get all hyped up thinking im gonna get a supra and race and make chit loads of money. I already dont want to race. I know what the results of racing are ;) . Thanks for you time.

it all really depends on the year of the car. boys are screwed for insurance from the start so its hard
