more discs is more top end and more noise. less discs is less top end more bottom and less noise. hope this helps ;)

i think hte reccomended # of discs is 12 for max performance on the dyno but it depends on what you want the pipe to do

if you guys are running just a straight pipe like without that backplate there is no use of even having discs in. Thats how it makes it tunable by allowing more or less back pressure. you could have 1 disc in or 1000000 it wouldnt make a difference without your back plate.:)

I can't use no discs, the allan screws won't go in all the way. They go in about half way then screw up, the previous owner of this pipe SUCKED!

correct me if I'm wrong...but doesn't the paper work that comes with em say that to get the maximum performance out of them, you should run all of the discs in it...I'm not sure anymore, its been a while since I last saw my paper work for it..

I had the pro-meg system and I ran 5 disks and no end cap. IMO no end cap/spark arrestor/restictor plate (whatever you want to call it) is the way to go. If you dont have to run a spark arrestor at the particular place your riding at you should take it off. The spark arrestor plate just restricts flow. The more disks you put on the the better your performance will be IF you run the SA Plate. If you dont use it then you can just run the bare minimum amount of disks because the exhaust isn't flowing through the disks now it is just flowing strait out which is going to give you better performance then filtering the exhaust through disks. I have done no real studies on this though and it is purely my opinion.

not for me when i opened mine up as a straight pipe without the SA Plate I felt loss in bottom end power. I was unable to pop it up in 5th gear. But with 12 in right now the front end comes up without any hesitation

what i did with the 300 was put the plate in the middle of the discs to make up the room so that the screws would go in all the way.

Thanks guys im probably going to run 6 or so with the SA on because like krt400ex said it is useless without the SA.
