whats your point? A manufacture is trying to keep a popular design going (the 450r plastics). The 300ex hasnt changed since 1987 back when it was the 250x. I would say after 20 years a change wouldnt do any harm.

man am i glad my 400ex is an '04. last year of the originals.

300ex used to look good too. okay, maybe not GOOD, but at least it was original. and i would rather have something that looked like what it was, than something that i could mistake for a 450r at a distant.

every bike has there good and bads. lemons and peaches. theyre all different, but wtf can we do about it. were just going to take it as it is or dont buy it at all. I think the 450's are one of the only quads people buy new nowdays anyways. all the dirtbikes look the same, Why dont we just do it to quads while were at it.

Honda should have just tossed the POS 300ex and built a quad that utilizies a 450r chassis with a beefed up crf 250x motor in it. Just think if they did that then other manufactures would follow, it would open the door for new classes in racing while producing a high performance quad that would appeal to the performance minded crowd. Don't get me wrong my first ever quad was a 250x but they can't seriously expect people to buy into 20 year old technology. Honda and the other big three put some much into their 450f's and 250f's so why can't the same be done for quads which has a MUCH larger market for the general public and not just racers???

What about the group of people who don't want to race? 300's are usually considered one of the 4-wheelers a parent would buy a child starting out at age 10 or above. Not everyone races nowadays.

I think it's retarded. Having a unique quad is just something that makes it feel like my own. Now people not as informed as the rest of us cannot even distinguish the model. ALL the bikes look the same. I think that it is lame.

I understand that but a 250f quad would be similar to a 300ex quad in stock form but faster. Same concept of the clutch is used but with this idea the chassis would be a lot better to grow into. Just look at how many people ditched a 400ex to go with a 450r even if they are just casual trail riders. The same suit would follow towards 250f quads.

I see where honda is going with this, It's just like the dirtbikes..
But I really think they should spend more time in the styling aspects if they want them to look like a 450r...

This is the best looking quad honda has ever produced IMO... I know I'm going to get bashed for saying it but oh well..

I agree with you! The new 400ex's look just as dumb, though I do like the updated reverse on them.

Driving by nowadays, unless I see the right side of these quads I can barely tell a difference between the 450 and 400.

exactly

kawasaki is making all there quads look like the new 450

i liked it when you look around and see a difference between all the quads instead of the same 450 design (goes for all the 450s)

Thats gay, I was glad they kept the 300ex the same, I thought it was gay when they turned every yami into a raptor, now the 450r is all over, wuts wrong with these idiots.

If I bought a 300ex new for my kid, first I'd order 95 plastic.

Who says its built to race? I think that would be perfect everywhere. It has electric start, higher revving motor, lighter, faster, why not? Why wouldn't it be good for the trails? The crf250x motor would be perfect in a 450r based frame, but the only problem is will people be willing to spend more money on something like that. You know it will be well over $1,000 more. I say give the 400ex, and the 300ex the ax. Doesn't matter now if honda made the changes to the 300ex i'm sure they want it to stick around for a little while.

I don't care much for how the new plastics look. I don't like the new style headlight.

They need to update the motor a bit too. I had an '04 300ex, got it in '05, and sold it in '06 because it was too underpowered. I know I grew as a rider but it still could use a little work, it just doesn't have the speed that it should.
