Well i hope im not the only one who makes a total mess when changing the tranny oil on my 06.Anyone figure out a way how to do it with out taking off your belly plate.Gotta be a way.It just drains all over the belly plate!!!!!!! I am gonna see if i can turn the bike on its side and remove the drain bolt and stick a rubber hose in the hole and let it dribble into a drain pan!Who knows!!

i just jack the front end up as far as i can get it (so all the old oil runs out the rear of the quad).then i'll put a rag under the motor, across ways in front of the drain so no oil can go past that point.after i reinstall the plug,i hose the plate out with brake clean and its good to go.its not perfect, but pretty close.

I take off the engine skid each time I change the oil (engine or tranny). If not, I end up making a big mess too :( haha.

I take a piece of cardboard and cut it into the shape of a V about 6 inches long and let the oil funnel over it and out the hole in the skid plate

When I drain the oil out of my 05 tranny not a drop touches the skid.

A little gets caught in the skid when I drain the engine, not much tho, couple drops.

I take a small plastic step stool and lift the front end up. I place the left front tire on the step stool. It angles the quad twords the right rear. It is the perfect angle so the oil run off the rear corner of the skid plate, minumizing the mess. After I put the bolt back in, a few squirts of brakleen and I'm done.

I took a drill bit and drilled a hole underneath the bolt through the skid plate.

Call me lazy if you want... But whatever goes into the belly skid doesnt bother me... Common! Its the bottom of the quad, mine gets full of sand and dirt anyway.

i never have a prob... i usually wipe the dirt off around the fill and drain holes (very thoroughly), change the oil, then wash it. i never make a mess in the garage.

what about using a holesaw to make a hole for the oil to drain through.
