I have a 400EX that was bored out to a 440 before I bought it. I rode it for approximately 1 year and the bottom end gave out.

Extras that it has:
White Bros Exhaust system
New front rims and tires
New front and rear brake master cylinders
new front and rear Stainless steel brake lines
skid plate under the swing arm
Lonestar Carrier
Durablue Axle
ProTaper handle bars
Nerf Bars
POS AC racing front bumper
New Autozone battery

The motor was supposely built by White Bros. The frame and suspension are in great shape. It has been sitting since Oct 2005 and I need it out of my garage. I know that a used motor can be bought for around $600-$700 and if the bike was running, I could get $2700 out of it.

I'm asking $1849 OBO Title in hand!!

It hasn't been rolled. I cracked the fender plastic doing a wheelie in Dec. 04'. The front bumper is a POS. I bent it going less than 5 mph, while pushing it trying to get the quad unstuck. The bumper is made of cheap *** aluminum.

***EDIT***

Ill say this like I say in EVERY topic like this...

If your not intersted in his offer-DONT REPLY! That is wrong to do and is not helping him make his sale.Have some repsect!

READ his post... he is trying to SELL it, does not want TRADES....

I think alot of peeps dont allow enough time to sell and get way too anxious to sell and give away stuff on here for WAY less than what its worth.
No way in heck am I selling mine for less than I feel mines worth or I wont sell.
Please respectful and do not post unless your a serious buyer.

Thanks QuadJunkies. I agree that people get in a tight situation and then drop their prices too much just to get rid of it. I'm not in that situation.

I will take a trade for a fishing boat though. 17' preferably.

If that wasn't rediculous.... I offered to buy it if the price dropped. I was only trying to help IF he wouldn't lower the price. I'm looking for a 400ex that needs help for a low price, and I would be glad to buy it if it wasn't the same price as RUNNING '99 ex's on ebay and elsewhere! Besides, I posted a 300ex a LONG time ago, and I got one message- 'drop it to what its worth.' I JUST SOLD IT FOR 100 bucks less than I was asking, which was below bluebook. To say the least, I'm offended. If people can drop UNSUPPORTED insults on me through PM, the least I should be able to do do is offer to buy it for what it's worth!

If I offended you, I apologize
Once again, I am interested if you dont get higher offers.

My bike is 2 years NEWER and has a ton of mods on it. If you are interested in buying it, MAKE AN OFFER.

I have never PM'ed you.

I see running 2001 with mods, go for $2500-$3000 all the time.

hmm.... what exactly "went out" on the bottom end? All I need is a reasonable guess/explanation. I might buy if the engine was saveable. Other than that, looks nice. Are those douglas red labels it's sitting on? Just curious. I'm quite close and sitting on a pile of cash... and need a project for Christmas break!

Sorry for any confusion my rant caused. The PM referred to when I tried to sell my bike here and got shot down for starting the offers at a reasonable price.

Dang. Sorry. Forgot. Is the Durablue axle just a stronger one or is it one of the +2 types? Do you have any stock parts? Also, if you can convince me that the cases are good, we might really be talking. For those who don't know, the innards of a bottom end can be had for like 40 bucks if one knows where to sniff.

You are more than welcome to come take a look at it. It will answer all your questions. I will be free all day today.

Could just be the tranny or it could be the crank. I have not attempted to crack the case open to find out. I was riding the quad and the rear wheels locked up and the motor shut off.

Ah. I apologize, but hope you'll understand- I NEVER go for the fix-all new engine thing. I'm a very capable mechanic who has owned and rebuild multipe types of engines (and some of my friends' junk :ermm: ), and I'd need to know more to assure myself of a cheap fix. If I were to drop 700 on an engine so I'd have unquestionable success, I'd end up paying what I would for a used running EX, and be out some labor besides.

I've posted everything I know about it in my original post. You should of read it. But instead you wasted my time by asking the same questions that I already answered. Now after I answered you again, you decide it is too much work? You are nothing more than a tire kicker.

If you rebuild it for $700 you will have a freshly rebuilt motor and know everything that is in the motor. Not some motor/quad that you bought of the internet that may run for 2 weeks.
