the 450r stock legnth is 16" i believe and i think it is the same on an 86 250r as long as you have stock travel a arms

i am using 450r shocks on my 86 now. it will raise the front about 1.5 inches at rest making the front tires move in making narrower. they work very well for my 250 lb. body ,firm and smooth. i have never bottomed them out yet.i made the rezzies face forward so the adjusters are easy to get to and my shrouds didnt need trimmed.i picked em up for 200 shipped on this site. i like em.

Being that these shocks are rebuildable, and chance to modify them to be at the right height?

my local tuner and porting guy swears by these shocks being of the upmost quality.they are total rebuildable. just get different springs for them. they go down with weight on bike.i think they are sweet!if you weigh 140 lbs. or so they may be abusive unless you like big air. check out front pic:D

WEll bummer unless you can get the shocks for way less than 200 buks , the extra cost of re valving and getting softer springs, it mat be chaper in teh long run to look at works shocks.

I'd take a set of revalved/resprung DeRisi 450r shocks over a set of works shocks any day of the week. Works are better than stock on stock form.. but after a revalve the stockers are much better than your standard works.

Now a set of works revalved with Derisi Valves... now that's a sweet shock. ;)
