400ex swingarm question

does anyone know if I can put a 86-87 trx250r swingarm on a 400ex?? I think the linkage mount is in a diff. location...stumped!?!?

i know there are a few years that will work, they are teh same other than the 250r is slightly longer.

well.. what Im triing to do is save a friend some money and use the 86 style because it is 1 inch longer and that what they need...
