Hello,

I am running 450R shocks on my 400EX. Just wondering if the shock rebuilds are worth the money? Do they make a hell of a difference or what? Who's the best? DeRisi or GT Thunder? Thanks alot guys!

mmm try the site sponsor.. I have rode on their setup and it feels badass to me. there is a huge difference.. specially if you cannot afford aftermarket shocks like me.. I have my shocks @ C&D right now being revalved.. they are good people

for derisi and gt thunder I have never rode a quad with their setup

Wow, didn't know C&D did that. Whats the price on their rebuilds?

I think they have a setup you can do for 615$ but they just got a new setup for 700$ and they says its well worth the extra 85$

Its cheaper then derisi and GTthunder, the setup doesn't come with a rear link but they say you don't need it with their setup..

IMO I think its worth the money.. vs spending atleast 900 for 2 front aftermarkets

I've checked him out already. Thanks anyways.

I talked to him in person at the ATV Worlds Fair in Louisville, KY last year.

I'm not sure if C&D rebuilds 450R shocks to run on the 400ex. I thought i read on another post that they rebuild the 450R shocks for 450R's only.

I asked Colby as well and C&D does not do 450R shocks to 400EX rebuilds.

I used GT Thunder and really like them.

They have a unique rebuild for the 400EX,unlike any others.

Yeah there is a reason they dont do it, mostly because those shocks are not supposed to be on there.;)

sort of, stock 450r shocks arent supposed to be on a 400ex, but gthunder does all of the needed mods to get the valving, springing and stoke correct fora 400ex. in the end, the are pretty much redesigned for a 400ex, and they work better than most aftermarket shocks

As far as the quality goes theres not much difference ( if any ) between any of the 3 setups ( C & D, Derisi, GT ). They are all using the same parts brands for the rebuilds, just that each builder has their own variations of which valving and spring rates to use on the setups. But it seems that GT has more test and tune on his own setups than anybody else :macho

Go with the Santo Derisi Rebuild. I have his shock rebuilds on my bike. Never go anywhere else. They are better then any shock i have ever owned. Santo will go the extra mile for you also to make things right. Would consider him to anyone. Nice guy

If any of them provide the service your looking for, I dont think you can go wrong with any of the three.
