Well I have a 11:1 WB piston stock bore with a stage 2 hotcam and stage 1 dynojet carb kit. Will the CS ignition advance jey work good with these mods or not.

No. Stock motors only I believe

not true^^^^^^^

i have talked to ppl that have highly modded and bored mtors and they say that the key works great. sparks doesn't recommend it for highly modded motors prolly because of heat issues(don't quote me on that) and it should work good for u

Exactly, just for heat issues you'll have to run a higher octane with the 11:1 piston now or you'll have detonation problems. You will feel a power difference.

u will hardly notice a diff in heat. i have one and i can't tell a diff at all

Hmm,
Sparks makes it and He recomends not useing it on built motors. I think before blowing up your motor, why not just give him a call. Curtis is a nice guy that knows his stuff. Listen to him, not me or someone else here.

you should be fine i read that it will be fine with mods just as long as u dont have a big bore 426, or 440. they even said the 416 should be fine

Im pretty sure the only reason he reccomends it for "stock engines" is due to the extra heat it will be putting out. As long as your running a high enough octane fuel, you wont be having detonation issues that will cause engine damage.

Thanks a lot guys.I actually tried to get a hold of curtis sparks first with no luck.I just got 6 gallons of 110 octane from the gas station and definently plan on running it in the motor after I finish putting it back together this weekend.

It's not the bore that really matters, it's the compression ratio. High compression piston = higher required octane. Lots of ignition advance = higher required octane. So when you add them together you can wind up with an engine that will not tolerate a fuell that would be fine with only one or the other.

I tried it with a 416 10.8 Ross piston, XR head gasket, no base gasket, HC Stage I & II cams and 92 octane fuel. Had severe pinging.

Higher octane may have helped but i'd rather not have to use it so I took the key out.

I bought the key for my stock 400 then decided to build my motor. I called Curtis and he told me not to use it. I was only using 10.8-1 compression. Hey, you would be an idiot to install something in your motor the manufacture tells you not to install.

Stock is what it was designed for, Install it and tell us what you think.
