what does a hotcam do for your quad? AND ive heard theres stages? WHATS THE BEST ONE TO GET THANXS

What he said ^^^^ pretty much. I higher lift cam holds the valves open longer enhancing engine performance. Depending on what quad you have, you will either have two or three Hot Cam models available to you.

Stage 1: more low-end torque
Stage 2: all-around power
Stage 3: made for top-end

Usually people will combine a cam with a motor bore, like building your 400EX into a 416 with a cam. The changes are significant. You will really only ever buy a Stage 3 if you are building a big bore quad, like a 460 Stroker EX.
