I've been thinking about getting new rear tires for a LONG time and I've finally got some extra money and was going to buy some Razr's, but I saw some on a warrior and they look huge. But then again I didnt look at the size of them either. But I was looking at some Kenda's the other day and I saw that you could get them in a 18x10.5x9. Now I've never seen a 18" tire mounted on a 9" rim so if you have, does it look wierd or what? If you have a pic of it post up.

Naw it won't look weird. You will have less sidewall with a 9in rim with 18's. People run 18's on 10in rims and it looks cool to me.

But they bend the rims easier cause there is less tire to cushion.

here are 9 inch rims with 18 tires....

Buy hipers and you will never bend a rim, ran these wheels on my last 6 quads..

heres 18 inch rears on 9inch rims

the kendas hooked up good for about 5 months. after that they got bad traction, so bad that the front dont even want to lift and i have around 50 hp.

i've got 18" kendas on 9" beadlocks and they look real good, but im pretty sure that kenda is about the only main stream company making a race tire in that size, i could be wrong tho. its fine with me tho cause i'll never buy anything but kendas ever again.

Lets see Turf Tamers come in 18-10-10, Razr MX's come in 18-10-10, Titan Fast Trekkers come in 18-11-10, and somewhere i've seen them GBC Shredders had an 18in tire that fit 10in rims. I think its more for looks, because rims would get bent pretty easy.

Oh 1 thing that I heard about running 18" tires is that the top speed is going to drop a little bit, is it noticeable? Or is this even true?

Yes it does, but you gain accel. Thats why everyone does it though, for MX, more power out of the corners and what not...Nothing to noticeable

I had some 18" holeshots on 10" .190's
I've had every rear tire and wheel set-up and a 9" wheel with an 18" tire is golden on a MX track. It's all about sidewall flex vs. cushyness (sp?) and the 9" hits it right in the middle.

i always though function is more important than looks...

Ya I understand what you're saying. But I like the look of a more "mx" quad. And as long as I have some good hook up on the rear end I'm fine.
