will an antifade from a 250r work on a 400ex-stock swinger/r carrier/rpm axle?

Yes again. The R and the EX share the same carrier and antifade. An R axle will fit an EX,as long as you have the R hubs and vice versa. The splines for the wheel hubs are different.About the only other diff is the rear brake caliper .They bolt up to the brake stay differently.

I will tell you what will not work.

400EX RPM axle with an LSR 250R antifade:

You will not be able to seat the clip on the axle. I had to buy a 400EX antifade, rear rotor, caliper stay, caliper and longer brake line.

The Anti-fades are not the same because the 400EX uses a larger diameter rotor and is 3~5mm shallower in the c-clip retention area.

The carriers are the exactly the same.

I also found out that a +2~+4 400EX Axle with OEM 400EX hubs is wider than a +2~+4 250R LSR axle with OEM 250R hubs. The 400EX hubs are longer than 250R hubs.

I own all of the parts that were mentioned:
LSR 250R axle with OEM 250R hubs
LSR 250R antifade
LSR 400EX antifade
RPM 400EX axle with OEM 400EX hubs
LSR 250R/400EX carrier

There are (2) projects in my shop so I chose to use the 400EX parts.

I thought the 250r axle was wider, a friend of mine used a 250r axle in his 400ex, used the 400ex brake hub and 250r axle lock nut, he also used 250r hubs.

With both axles adjusted to +4, the RPM 400EX axle with 400EX OEM hubs was wider than the LSR 250R axle with OEM 250R hubs on my 250R. With the RPM axle my rear was wider than the front so I reduced the RPM's setting to +2.

400EX hubs are splined different so my aftermarket and OEM 250R hubs would not fit on the 400EX axle. Vice versa applies on the hubs.

Come on now! My previous post already explained this!!

You will have to use all 400EX parts on the axle if you are using an Antifade.

One more time: Parts list to use an antifade with a 400EX axle on a 250R

400EX antifade because the clip will NOT seat with a 250R antifade
400EX caliper stay
400EX caliper
400EX rotor
400EX rear hubs
longer brake line

If you use a normal 250R rotor hub on the 400EX axle you can use the 250R parts (rotor, caliper stay, 2-piston caliper, brake line) but you will need 400EX hubs plus locknut and sleeve. The sleeve for the 400EX is shorter than the 250R so there will not be any problems with getting the clip to seat.

if you want to use the 250r brake system on a 400ex axle you need to use the 250r: brake caliper mount, disc and rotor, axle lock nut. The anti-fade won't work. I have a durablue locknut on my 85 250r and it doesn't loossen any.

Or you can sell your 400EX axle and get a 250R axle. That is easier than buying all 400EX parts.

The cheapest route is to use an OEM type 250R rotor hub with an aftermarket 400EX lock nut.

I think I have the locknut that came with my RPM axle. I'll post a pic later.

ive already got a LSR 400ex axle on the way though
wont i have buy the 250r rear brake setup if i use the 250r rotor hub wouldnt it be cheaper for me now to sell the 250r anti-fade and buy a 400ex anti-fade?

i think he currently has a 400ex not 250R. so to go 250R is a big swap for him...
