when did he die?!?! the only date i could find is sept. 4... but i really think it would be hard to find all that into in the matter of hours...

a stingray peirced his heart, if it didnt hit his chest he prolly woulda survived. he has a a wife and 2 kids 3 and 8 years old

well he was killed in Australia on the 4th.. meaning like last night to us.. not sure of the time zone difference but it wouldve been almost a day off i think.

I don't think it was funny at all.I just couldn't resist making that comment,it was too easy.It is very sad for his kids.I have a 14 month old daughter and if I was him I would havbe stopped doing that crazy stuff.

He was such a nice guy and never had anything coming to him.. That was his life and what he loved to do..

I used to watch his show all the time and I felt like he was family.

I dont mean to be a dick but the guy was a nut. He would see a snake n say that is a black something or other snake, if it bites u then u have 3 minutes to live. Then he picks it up!

Crikey its a 500lb croc! Then he pisses it off. He would be holding a pissed off crocs tail n turns to say something to the camera.

Sorry if i offended anyone..

It definitely sucks... but why a stingray.. like the thing he touches least and is what, the 2nd erson in that country to die from one... he probably would have prefered a diff animal to get him but who knows it sux for his family......

oh yea the international date line is in the pacific not the atlantic as someone said.

hes the second person to ever be killed by a stingray... its not that crazy, he thought it was safe.

he was a very good man, the stuff he did for australia was great.
his death was a freak accident. the other person who was killed by a stnigray was over 60 years ago. there are more deaths from bath tubs than stingrays.

i think that anyone making fun of him or saying that he had it coming is an @$$!!
that is like dying from a quad accident and everybody saying that he had it coming. sry, but 98% of the ppl on this site would not say anything like that if someone died in a quaad accident. he died living his dream. i know that i want to die living my dream, or at least knowing that i had lived it....he was a great man and i have learned so much from him. i feel like part of his family.

It sux for his family, but when you go around poking at animals that don't want to be poked, they attack. Its too bad he died, but its not like its the stingrays fault.

RIP....I really really liked this guy. I was shocked to say the least when I heard about it. I did not think he had it coming he was very good at what he did.....It was just his time. Maybe God had him struck by an animal that is not feared by the public as a sign of respect for Steve....because if he was killed by a croc or a snake all of his lifes work of educating the world that snakes and crocs dont target people on a regular basis would have been out the window. RIP Steve....your family is in my prayers. You will be missed:(

The weird thing is he plays with crocs, snakes and posinos spiders and dosen't get killed.

He wasn't even playing around with the ray, and it gets him.

I hate to see this happen to him. I am glad his daughter wasn't with him, because I guess he was making the Stingray show with her.:(

When he was messing with the crocs, snakes, and poisonous spiders..He was making sure he was safe. With the stingray, he let his guard down a little bit and it happened. But, about the video tape..(I read this off the website and on someones report on him) In 2002, he said that if he were to ever die and it was caught on tape, he wanted the media to see it. I'll try and find the site.
