I need new tires for my 2005 Honda TRX 400EX. Everytime I ride, I ride 10 miles round trip on pavement and the rest is dirt road or trail riding in the Arizona desert. I need tires that the tread doesn't wear out as fast as the original OEM tires. Any suggestions?

The parts guy at the local shop suggested using some kind of Mudlite tire because the tread will last longer. Has anybody ever done that?

I run Holeshot HD.

Most ANY aftermarket tires gonna wear better than OEM tires.

Honda should be ashamed of their OEM's.

I dont think it'd be a good idea to run mudlites or any mudtire on the road, they'll probably get chewed up pretty quick..
From what i hear tho, kenda klaws would wear pretty good:cool:

the maxxis razrs r really good. they last forever. i have about 50 hrs on my tires and they still have about 80% tread left.

Razr 2's on all four corners of my quad. They are really holding up well.

Get RAZR II's they have alot of bite for the dirt and wear pretty good, more on the expensive side though.

turf tamers are a soft compound they were extremely fast on dirt...and i razrs wear fast slos...my friend had razr2's on his 400ex for years with little wear on them...he was on roads a lot too

ITP holeshots last forever. i have had holeshot XC's on my quad for 3 years now and they are at about 50% tread left with slot of time spent on the road.
