I own a 03 Yamaha Raptor 660, and needed some help, picking a set of +2 A-arms, on a budget.

I do mostly trail riding, and very little mx stuff (no big air-here) raptor already has a +4 axle, and wanted to upgrade the A-arms.

wanted to keep price under or around $600, and had a list of brands, wanted some feedback on which brands.

what brands- PROS AND CONS !!!!

1. Houser
2. Herrmann racing
3. Lonestar (Recreational style $599)
4. Wicked
5. Smcfabrication

Cheers.....

I run Herrmann +2s on my TRX and they work great. They are very helpful too. I race GNCC and 6 Hours of ATV America, so I have put them through some ruff stuff and they have held up great. They are built very strong!

Options 2,3,5 are great choices and I think you would be happy!

I would give LSR a call and tell him Kenneth sent you from YFZcentral (he will know who I am then lol )

If you decide against LSR, Herman racing has nice a-arms for the price I believe they are like 540.00?? not sure.. Brad will take care of you though and lead you in the right direction

SMC I just now got a chance to get to know him . He is an awesome guy to deal with. His standard travel a-arms are 475.00 and they are well made with a limited warranty. I'm sure he could also help you out.

two another brand you might want to consider is ATV Four Play and JB atv racing. They both offer quality products just like option 2,3,5 with excellent customer support.

go with smc fab. I too race the maxxis six hours races and have put two different sets through their paces along with plenty of mx racing on top of it. They hold up fine and he has a great warranty.

thanks everyone, for all the feedback....

leaning towards, Herrmann or Lonestar, maybe SMC

who has the best prices(remodeling the house) so can't spend a fortune, but want a good set.

Cheers,
Danny

Entry level +2 JD arms are $495

http://www.jdperformanceatv.com/

They have always had quality stuff for people on a budget.
Out of those though, I would pic Herrmann.
I had a Houser swingarm back in the day, that thing was a TANK. CRAZY Heavy. My JRD is atleast half the weight, same with a-arms.

Just because Herrmann standard A Arms are some what cheap in price, they sure are not made cheap! They are very strong. I am sure some of the other cheaper A Arms are not made as well as some, but the Herrmann Racing A Arms are very well made!

All names aside, what makes an a-arm good, better or best?
