Once and for all let's put this to rest! LOL

Stock gearing.

99-04 top speed 15/38?

05-06 top speed 14/38?

Lots of arguments, so I'm gonna stay out of it for a while to see what you guys say.

And do the 05 and up have a taller 5th gear to make up for the 14T front sprocket?

I'm not a newbie trying to start stuff, just wanna settle this, hehe. No "top speed doesn't matter" or "top speed is not important" arguments, please. Just flat out top speed.

Thanks,

Travis

I have learned after many years of riding that you MUST keep your top speed just under the speed of sound.
If you don't, then that cool noise comming out of your aftermarket muffler won't be able to keep up with you !!!!!!!!

Top speed for both- 65-70. Give or take a few off of that depending on rider ability, and terrain.

you know im almost positive the honda website post its top speed. i read it somewhere when i was researching my quad.
62mph was top speed.

i do know there is no way for me to keep up with an old, air cooled cr500. blew my doors off.

i think with optimal conditions, rider weight, ( not sure how much skill is involved in pinning the throttle in fifth gear takes )....not more than 65mph.

it doesnt matter how fast you are, its who ever cross's the finish line first.

To me, as ricky bobby would say, "I wanna go fast!!!!". To find out the real speed for just 1 quad is impossible, the top speed will be different for anyone, it matters for the expirence, and how much you weigh.
