I am looking into getting the moose ultimate clutch lever system, I want to clean up the bars a little. If i get it do I still need to get a new cable to go with the hot start or will the stock one work.

ok its kinda complicateed.

the stock cable will work.

take a adjusting screw (wat the parking brake and clutch go through.) they screww in and out wit the cable in them to make it tigher or looser.

ull have to grind it down a lil bit to take some slack out. but u want about 1/8th of an inch play.

then i apoxied it so it doesnt move around.

its kinda complicated. let me no if u have any problems
i used the MSR. its identicall to the works. and it was $30

Im a little confused by the above post? I am going to be installing an asv clutch lever with hotstart soon. Why wouldnt it be just plug and play?

The stock cable has too much cable sticking out. You have to buy a Baldwin cable. The other option is what was attempted to be said already, you need to make some sort of spacer to space the cable from the perch. Like one of the things you screw in and out to adjust your clutch cable.

Intieristing. I would have never guessed. I thought it would just plug and play. I guess Ill be ordering a Asv cable for when I swap my lever on.

Am I going to need a new clutch cable also?

Edit- I cant seem to find the cable your speaking of. Anyone have a link?

I bought my hot start cable from Mark Baldwin.

You do not need a new clutch cable.

you dont have top buy a new cable. all u do id take the old purch unscrew the adjuster. put it in and grind it after u get an idea of how much u have to take off. and apoxy it so it dont move. its not hard at all.

I have a crf450 works connection lever w/hotstart . All i did was get a barrel adjuster and cut it to the right length to mount the cable into the perch. Its really easy and can be done with all aftermarket levers with a hotstart lever.
