i put 450r shocks on my 400ex and to try to get it to 30% rider sag like QUAD magazine said i had to turn the preload adjuster all the way out.............. is this ok because i weigh 200 pounds..... and it just doesnt seem right?

did you have them rebuilt for your setup? That may be the problem.

I agree. If you don't have them revalved and resprung to your weight, you are not going to get the 30% sag like suggested. Send them to C&D or Derisi. They will fix you right up;)

I am pretty sure they do, I don't know the technical data on it.....but I know you have to get them rebuilt to make them work correctly.

I think Laz has done a lot of work on them.

I think I read that the difference in the shocks are less than a half inch. It will change, but it probably won't be noticable. The main advantage of the 450r shocks over the 400ex is the fact that they have a reservoir, and they can be revalved.

im goin to moberly this weekend........ my uni filter f'd up cuz that stupid plastic cage warped............. and i need a rebuild now but dont have enough time inbetween races so i am goin 4 races on a worn piston............. it aint smokin bad yet but it is just a lil bit....... i am just #283 and in C sportsman this will be my 5th race ever....... oh i also got a pro design now...... and i love it!

I am slowly working out all the kinks in my 450R and I should be at some of the Timber Run races! I have only raced 3 times so you have 2 races on me.....just don't lap me....:macho

You should just borrow my motor.....it will put a smile on your face. If I would have known, I would of let you borrow it, I am heading out of town this weekend. YOu would not want to give it back....:devil:
