co9uld i get some pics sporttraxburch@yahoo.com

can it go back to using a stock 400ex engine how well does a crf motor fit in it

KTMryan53
12-20-2006, 07:53 AM
yes i would assume it would have no problem using a stock 400 engine because it uses a 400 frame. you would need to get front motor mounts and the 400 engine electronics and i believe that would be it. the pics will show how the engine fits in. being that this swap was done professionally and the bike has been rode more then once i dont think you or the craftsmanship will have any problems.

ok wat is so special about these 450r motors on 400ex frames? what is the point in putting a lighter motor on a heavier frame when it was already on a light *** frame. not trying to piss anybody off just trying to make a point

first you only need to hit reply once. second is obviously you have not rode one. if you think that a trx450r is going to hang with this you are terribly mistaken. i had an 04 trx 450r and was able to compare it to a crf hybrid. my comparison would be similar to riding a 125cc dirtbike as compared to a big bore bike. there is not one place where the hybrid is slower/worse/ect. most people like the 400 frame geometery like i do and dont like the "tall" feel of some of the other quads.

KTMryan53
02-09-2007, 02:28 PM
also using the word "light" or "lighter" is relative. the power difference overcomes any type of extra weight. a 3000lbs car with 500hp will be faster then a 2000lbs car with 250hp, keeping all variables the same of course.

the trx 450r were not made until 2004 just to clear that up. u dont see the pros running hybrids "ANYMORE" gee i wonder why cause the production bikes r faster. okay what is the point in throwing a 2 to 3000 dollar motor into a 3000 rolling chassis and then u have a 2000 dollar long travel front end. then a custom made exhaust and custom everything on it. to each there on opinion but the 06 450r, 06 yfz 450 and 06 ltr 450r would be my prefererd choice not a hybrid.

you don't see any pro's racing the hybrids anymore because THEY CAN'T! The AMA basicly banned them in all classes except for the open classes, same with the 250r. Now i bet your going to sit there and say that the 250r is a POS. Doug Gust was even quoted in an interview with i believe it was dirt wheels, saying that he preffered his old suzuki 400 hybrid over his now factory ride! Thats another big thing that controls it to, if you are a factory rider making a mill + your going to ride whatever it is that they want you to ride. The factory's are not going have there riders riding hybrids, that would basicly be saying that the quads they have in production just aren't good enough.

crazy_guy had his info strait the 450R wasnt made untill 2004 lol i would say he didnt but the hybrid are wicked fast bieks i would take it is it still for sale and what is the suspension like are the shocks good and how new are they?>

I was not refering to when the 450r began to be produced as being wrong but the fact that the pros all chose factory rides and them being faster. Its like the die hard 4 stroke guys arguing the 250r is not competitive anymore. Sorry for jacking the thread, back to selling his item

i have no problem wit the 250rs heck i would like to have one myself just to put up as a collector. But i have not seen one 250r make 70 hp on stock stroke and stock bore like a any 450 does. All of them have to be bored out just to make power. but u u likem then likem no problem wit meits just like a ford and a chevy its always gonna be that way.
