How do I get the play out of the throttle? I want NO PLAY, which way do I turn the "adjuster" thing?

turn the throttle cabble out until there is no play

Will that make my throttle hard to push? Which way do I turn from a seated position?

Pull the rubber boot back from the thumb throttle housing and loosen the jam nut. Turn the adjuster CCW until there's no play. Tighten the jam nut and replace the boot, and you're done.

And if that happens, just adjust it back down at the carb...

i would almost leave it right where it starts to idle faster.. it'll keep her touchy.

I personaly like to have some play in my throttle just becaues it makes it easier to push and doesnt give me thumb fatigue.

i can respect that too.. when i used to go on all-day trips on my big red, my thumb would cramp up so bad just because i was smaller and couldnt reach the throttle the same.. i ended up in the end putting a twist throttle on it.. but that doesnt work as well when you roll it in a gravel pit and the handlebar digs into the ground.
