My friend has an '04 and i have an '05 both piped, filtered, and cams. His '04 has a hotcam and mine has the hrc kit. He feels like his has more power than mine (i cant say because i havnt ridden his) Is the hrc a whole different powerband than the hotcam?...oh yeah we both have 11.5:1 wiseco pistons too, and 13 T sprokets

Hrc is more of a topend cam and the hotcam stage 2 is more of a mid to top. The hrc you will acually lose power on the bottom from stock

hmm so do you think it would be worth it if i sold my hrc cam and got a hotcam if i rode mainly trails and sand flats?

Yeah. I would get a stage 1 Hotcam.

Ditch that 13 tooth front and you will smoke him. The HRC cam is fine. I love mine.

ditch the 13t and go back to a 14t? how would that make it better low end?

in a drag race the hot-cam will win if the race is short>>300ft-600ft.

the hot cam is a better cam for mx-trails and short drags

heres a dyno of the too tested on the same day.......red line is hrc.

this test was done on my bike.......and the ride test feels like what you see.>>>i'm running a 14.1 baldwin piston>>>on a 05-trx
the HRC made the most power, but the curve is not as good as the hot cam

hrc=48hp
hot-c=47

and that piston your running is the same one i had awhile back, and i would keep the 13t on front with that setup,or go 14/40........this gearing is with 20"tires.

Buck-naked is correct.

The STG2 produces way more power from 0-8500rpms. From 8600 to the limiter is where the HRC shines.

I love my 02 crf but I do alot of mx. This is more of a bottom end cam

i had this cam too>>>the crf cams are not good for top-end,some are not even that good in the midrange............i drag race so that cam did not do it for me.

since i have the hrc lid on the airbox now...would i notice a good amount of torque if i took it off and rejeted? Im trying to get better low end without spending the money.

Taking the lid off actually makes it bog a little more on the bottom end. The Airbox needs a little bit of backpressure. It'll run the best with the HRC style lid.

no your running lean, you need to jet to accomodate the added airflow to the engine:)
