crf450 stroker

i've been out of the sport for about 2 years now and plan to get back into it this spring, and the ol' crf needs to be freshened up and i been thinkin about a big bore/stroker and im just wondering if anyone has any reasonable prices, only ones i found that i like so far is the falicon 525 long rod big bore stroker, but i dont really care to spend damn near 3 grand on motor mods, any suggestions?

I have a 488 big bore on mine, you are looking at about $1200 on that. I really don't see the need for a big bore, they completely rip, my motor is in a quad and with the extra weight and tire, it really moves. I have a ktm450ex, and that bike is unbelivabley fast, a crf450r isn't too much further behind it(maybe faster in accleration and much better mx track suspension). I think a stock bore and stroke has more than enough power than one person can use.

mines in a quad too, and we have to remember the rider is NOT light...lol i figure itd be easier to build up the motor than to go to subway;)

I say, go for a ktm 525 chassis and get a stroker crank and big bore to bring the motor to about 580cc's, that should be more power than any person can use. That quad will make about 80 horses, do you need more power than that???????

the guy wants to get the name of a place that does good motor work at a good price.

not a damn frame/motor swap...

c&d have stroker cranks? i dont have time to look at their site tonight just got on to check any replies on here. does hot rods make a stroker for the crf? i can get the athena big bore relatively cheap thru my buddy's shp, but he dont know exactly where to find a crank either. but if i cant find one REASONABLY priced and i am forced to shell out some dollars im gonna do something stupid and go with that falicon 525 long rod:devil: im startin to wish caterpillar made quad engines:macho

ice cube makes a kit that u can get. i think it is like $1300
