i just bought a new truck. it a 98 dakota w/ a 5.9L and i was wondering how much power it has. i pick it up wednesday. does any one know what kind of gas mileage i will get.

Not sure on the power but a 5.9l should be close to 280 hp and it will likely be a pig on gas sorry to say

I think it's 245 hp from what I could find!

probaly 15 mpg if u stay out of the gas

i have a 5.9 r/t regular cab...theyre 245 hp but have alot of torque. (i forget exactly how much) ...gas mileage sucks. it does have some nice power though. oh by the way, tires are super expensive for it so dont be shocked when you see the bill. it doesnt do too bad on the highway if you stay off the gas and just cruise. but if your driving around town alot it doesnt do that well. if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

so i can use it to pull my toys instead of the 1/2 ton chevy. the tires were $845-875 but they are brand new. gas mileage dosent bother me i just accept it but it means i can go fast. found out i have a k&n also
