i was wondering if there was anyway i can hook up a truck tach to my 05 400ex? thanks in advance

prolly not, most truck tachs use the trucks ingnition computer, which your wheeler doesn't have

rev limiter is around 10,100. but they sell an ignition that u can get 11,100 out of it. if that answers ur question.

rev limiter is at 9300 rpm. not 10,100

im not exactly sure what the Trail Tech computers do but im pretty sure they have a tach..you could look into those, its worth a shot

i was lookign at programmable ignitions on ebay the other day and te one i was lookgin at had an output for a Tach it said, so it can be done.

Stock 400ex rev limiter is 9,100rpm.

Most any small engine universal tach will work. Most just wrap a wire around the plug wire to pick up the ignition pulses.

If you're just looking for a tach for tuning purposes then one of those little tach/hour meter combos would work....

ya, i had changed the oil shortly before and had the chassis skid off. it is a prm and i had left the frame mounts sitting on the frame without putting the skidplate back on.

were do you run the tach wire to?
also do you need a ground?
im wondering cuz i got a dash kit off a 04 yamaha r1 street bike and i wanted to hook up the tack n stuff

Hmm I would buy a trail tech, that is made to go on the bike, so your not fabbing and making things, then sell the yami tach,cluster, make a few extra buks.. Jmo
