450r or yfz

I'm planing to sell my 400ex but cant decide on what quad I want. I was thinking about the 450r,or the yfz could someone help.

nerf bars
6 pack rack

trail teck lights
razr front and back tires
sand star front and back tires

Just ride them both and see how you like them.

I like the power of the 450r its alot smoother

But I like the cornering of the YFZ.

I do alot of dune riding,and some desert riding.I've riden a buddies yfz and liked it,but i havent riden a 450r.I like the 450r but heard about starting problems.

Desert Riding you would be cool with both of them.

Have you ever considered a Bombardier DS 650 Baja Edition?

i want to know whats better at the dunes the 450r or yfz i dont really like the ds650.

The Baja is suppose to be a great machine for teh desert. They win all the Baja 500 and 1000s on a basicly stock Bomb.

There prally both about equal for the dunes and stuff. I have seen fast YFZs and fast 450Rs so I can't go ether way. They both handle great.

I think the YFZ and R parts are all about the same price

dude.. go with the yfz... for the dunes the suspension is much better on the yfz, and the yfz is also faster...

we have an 06 yfz and 06 450r in our group... and if i have another problem with my 250r, it is going back to stock and im getting a yfz...

I ran a race on my buddies 450r....it isn't a bad quad, but I just hate it compared to my YFZ. It felt so weird...the suspension wasn't bad at all, but not comparable to YFZ IMO...same with the power. It had a lot, but

Overall, the YFZ is just a better machine IMO. Even for me, and I am roughly 6'4 and race MX. It is faster then all of the 450s, probably the second best suspension on a stock machine. Plus, it has all the little things that the Honda and others don't, just for convenience (grease fittings for the front end, air filter that requires no tools to remove, etc).

I have not even thought about saying "man, I shoulda got a 450r"....if you can't afford a YFZ, then 450rs are certainly cheaper, but IMO, you get what you pay for...most of my buddies 450rs fell apart fairly quick.

The only other quad I ever thought I shoulda maybe got was the LTR. The YFZs are faster, but the cornering and everything on those things is simply awesome stock. But, I am not regretting the YFZ at all.

Depends on what you like and feel comfortable on. Everyone is gonna have their own opinions as to which is faster, handles better, rides better, etc. No one apprecitates the exact same qualities, and no two bikes are exactly alike. For me, its the Honda, but I cannot say that I don't enjoy the YFZs as well.

when I'm at the dunes i want comfort,and good suspention.I dont really care about racing up comp hill.I mostly like having fun riding in the dunes,and having alot of power,and speed.

2005 yfz 450, starts the best and with a fat boy full pipe it'll smoke

Both good choices, I went for the yfz for several reasons, rides like a 2 stroke, the power hits right now, lower and wider is better and the shocks on the 06 are much improved.
